Piano Studies [i, ii, iii], 2015

A series of studies for piano which explores different aspects of acoustics and resonance of the piano.

Piano Study No.1 explores connection between repetition and change when taken to extremes-- obsessively repeated chromatic scale, and the resonance of subtle changes.

 

Piano Study No.2 explores the idea of a string glissando, moving between harmonic and in harmonic partials on a string.

​

Piano Study No.3 explores nodes on a piano string up to the 7th harmonic with rhythmic correspondence to the intervallic ratios.
